Casa Adelita was built in the late 18th century, when San Miguel de Allende was still called San Miguel El Grande. This city served later as a setting for the War of Independence of 1810. At that time, Casa Adelita boasted a larger expanse of land, encompassing a charming courtyard with orange trees and gardens. Remarkably, beneath these grounds, tunnels were constructed, serving as a refuge to the churches during times of persecution (one of these tunnels is under the pool).
